Another way to visit Iona is by ship.  Yesterday this large cruise ship appeared in Iona Sound and stopped for the afternoon. It is cruising in the Outer Hebrides and was headed next to Wales. It was a sunny day with smooth waters and a tender from the ship brought dozens of visitors to the island who took a quick walk up to take a look at the Abbey.  Such a short stop doesn't begin to do justice to this amazing place.  So we're grateful for our little ferry that plows through choppy waters, rain or shine, but lets us stay a while!
